BOOTCAMP GOAL
Encourage dialogue about best practices in student engagement, writing instruction and student success while fostering a sense of community amongst ENG 100 faculty.
OUTCOMES (and How We Will Achieve These Outcomes)
- Increase by twelve the number of ENG 100 faculty who understand their direct role in enhancing student completion, success, graduation and transfer rates. ("Goals for Student Success" A Talk with Dean Charles Sasaki )
- Encourage a sense of community and foster connections amongst ENG 100 faculty. (Team Building/Workshop Activities)
- Increase curricular and pedagogical innovation by introducing new content and teaching methods in twelve ENG 100 courses. (Workshop Activities)
- Enhance awareness about practices that support student success and learning for Native Hawaiian and other students. (Mālama Hawai'i Presentation and other Workshop Activities)
- Enhance awareness of significant place-based/cultural-based resources in Hawai'i. (Shangri La: A Center for Islamic Arts and Cultures and Hawaii Heritage Center Chinatown Food, Historical and Cultural Walking Tour)
